Tigard Tour de Parks family bike ride and kids bike safety rodeo

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 13 for two free, family fun events!

The Youth Bike Safety Rodeo (11am-noon) is a fun way for youth ages 9 and up to learn some basic bike handling and safety skills, taught by League of American Bicyclists certified instructors. Rodeo is limited to 18 participants. Click here to preregister.

A Tiny Tots Ride will run from 12:00 (noon) till 12:30 and will give young and beginning riders a chance to explore the Fanno Creek trail at a beginner-friendly pace.

The Tigard Tour de Parks bike ride will start at 1pm. It is 12 miles long, and visits a half dozen of Tigards great parks. The ride will be on a mix of quiet roads and off-street trails. There will be a short-cut option about halfway into the ride. NOTE: Roads will not be closed for this event. Also, children 15 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the ride. Preregistration is encouraged for the ride, and pre-registered riders will get Schwan's Ice Cream at the end of the ride. Click here to preregister.

Both the rodeo and ride start/end will be at the Tigard Public Works Building on Burnham Street.
